MenuReady (“we,” “us”) builds digital menu boards for restaurants. This page explains what information we collect when you use menuready.ai and the MenuReady product, why we collect it, and who we share it with.
Information we collect
Account information
Your name, email address, and password (if you sign up with one) or the credentials your login provider shares with us. Starting a menu board before signing up creates a temporary anonymous account so you don't lose your work; if you never provide an email, this data isn't tied to any personal identity.
Your menu content
Anything you provide to build your board: photos, scans, PDFs, or spreadsheets of your menu; a website URL you ask us to import from; and the restaurant name, categories, items, prices, descriptions, logo, tagline, and design choices you add or edit.
Billing information
If you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your card details directly — we never see or store your full card number. We keep a record of your subscription status, plan, and billing history.
Usage information
Basic technical data (like IP address and browser type) collected automatically when you visit our site or a published menu board, mainly for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- To build, host, and display your menu board, and let you edit it.
- To read the menu content you upload or link to (using AI, including third-party AI providers — see below) so we can turn it into structured menu data and design suggestions.
- To create and manage your account, and to bill you for a subscription if you have one.
- To send you account, billing, and product emails — like a login link or a receipt.
- To keep the service secure and working, and to improve it over time.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that make MenuReady work, each only for the purpose below:
- Supabase — our database, file storage, and account/login system.
- Anthropic and OpenAI — the AI providers we use to read menu photos/PDFs/websites and generate menu designs. Content you upload may be sent to these providers to perform that processing.
- Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions.
- Postmark — sending transactional emails (login links, receipts, notifications).
- Vercel — hosting the website and application.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of MenuReady, our users, or others.
Your menu board is public
A published menu board is designed to be displayed on a TV or shared by link — anyone with that link can view it. Don't put anything on a menu board you don't want publicly visible.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.
Data retention
We keep your account and menu data for as long as your account is active, so your boards keep working. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information and menu content within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.
Your choices
You can review and edit your menu content at any time from your dashboard. To access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to ask a question about this policy, contact us at [email protected].
Children's privacy
MenuReady is a business tool for restaurants and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
